Here’s a toast to bisexuals all over the world. Today is Celebrate Bisexuality Day! First observed in 1999, Celebrate Bisexuality Day began as the brainchild of three American bisexual rights activists: Wendy Curry of Maine, Michael Page of Florida, and Gigi Raven Wilbur of Texas.
Bisexuals have been subjected to discrimination and prejudice both without and without the LGBT community over the years. I presume people find bisexuals threatening precisely because they challenge our boundary of “legitimate” sexuality. In fact, one of my ex-boyfriends is bisexual and he’s the coolest guy!
